Two Sets of Weapons
Due Process is a game all about asymmetry. Attackers and Defenders have different health and immunity to specific utilities, but it doesn’t stop in the character stats. In this article, we’ll go over how the armories differ for Attackers and Defenders
Variation
The biggest difference between the Attackers’ and Defenders’ options for weapons is simply the amount of them. Attackers have three primaries, one secondary, and one power weapon. Defenders have nine primaries, three secondaries, and two power weapons. We’ll go in depth on all of the weapons in future articles, but here are the main categories for each side.
Attackers’ Armory
The Attackers have a more precise, but weaker set of weapons. Their primaries include the DL-12, a pump shotgun with decent range, the BLK-TAR, a silenced marksman rifle with high-range precision and decent penetration, allowing for stronger long range engagements, and the AP-25, a highly versatile SMG with consistent damage. The only secondary option for Attackers is the PK-57, a weak pistol with little to no use. The SAB-R is their only power weapon (one-of-a-kind, very strong weapons). It’s a semi-auto sniper rifle that is fitted with a night vision scope. This is the only weapon the Attackers have that is strictly better than its Defender counterpart, the MAWP.
The Attackers’ weapons are built to work uniformly in any situation, but there’s almost always a better option for whatever you’re trying to do, so try to grab a defender weapon for whatever role you’re playing.
Defender’s Depot
The Defenders have a lot of different options, So I’ll them into some broader categories:
Small Machine Guns
The Gruber, the Gruber-SD, and the NAC-11 fill out the SMG category for Defenders. The Gruber is a standard SMG – basically a stronger version of the AP-25. The Gruber-SD is identical to the Gruber, with an added silencer, so it’s great for ratting (hiding behind the enemy.
Rifles
There are four rifles to choose from. The KR82 is a standard assault rifle – medium to long range capabilities, consistent damage, while the KR82U is its smaller, close quarters companion. The Ingmar-57 is a clunky assault rifle with a slower fire, fitted for more long range fights. The F1 Legros is a semi-automatic rifle with high damage and high penetration, which is great for holding green doors, as you can shoot right through them.
Shotguns
The TUB-12 is the only primary shotgun for Defenders. It’s a bit more of a boomstick than the DL-12, so try to rat with it, or play very ahead on a choke. There’s also a sawed-off shotgun for secondaries, but we’ll talk about that later.
Secondaries
Three pistols supplement the primary weapons: the Gat-9, the LS45, and the power Shotgun. The Gat-9 is the most common, with a large magazine and high rate of fire. The LS45 has a small magazine (7 rounds), but deals much more damage, especially at longer range. The Super Shotgun is a sawed off shotgun, great for pairing with a short-mid range weapon, such as an SMG or even another shotgun.
Power Weapons
Three pistols supplement the primary weapons: the Gat-9, the LS45, and the power Shotgun. The Gat-9 is the most common, with a large magazine and high rate of fire. The LS45 has a small magazine (7 rounds), but deals much more damage, especially at longer range. The Super Shotgun is a sawed off shotgun, great for pairing with a short-mid range weapon, such as an SMG or even another shotgun.
